Various Resources and Recommended Links
Autism & Other Special Needs LinksAutism Society - the nation’s leading grassroots autism organization, exists to improve the lives of all affected by autism. An excellent source of information on autism whether you're a family member of someone on the autism spectrum, or an autistic yourself. They include information on treatments, therapies, support groups, and the latest research, all on one easy to navigate site.
National Autism Association - Founded in 2003, this is a parent-run advocacy organization and the leading voice on urgent issues related to severe autism, regressive autism, autism safety, autism abuse, and crisis prevention. Another excellent source of information, especially on local support groups. The Autism Site - A different type of charitable web site run by Greater Good, this site (as well as it's sister sites such as The Hunger Site, The Animal Rescue Site, The Diabetes Site and more) is a "Click To Give" website where sponsors pay Greater Good a certain amount every time someone clicks on one of their links (just like ads on this web site pay us when you click on them). Greater Good then gives that money to whatever charity they're supporting on the page you happen to stop at. An easy way to help support whatever charity you happen to prefer, and hey, there's some pretty nifty stuff in their store so in addition to helping a charity you might just find something for yourself too. 4 Paws for Ability -The first national organization that trains and places service dogs specially trained for work with autistic children, this 501(c) non-profit tries hard to match every family who applies with a dog as long as the child's physician approves and the home is judged safe. Autism Service Dogs of America - Another national leader in the training and placing of autism service dogs, and another good source of information about them. |
